Social play and healthy activities for ALL - no exceptions, no barriers
Street Racket puts a very strong focus on the promotion of integration & inclusion. The setup, the rules and the equipment are simple and yet the concept is very effective and versatile. This enables ANYONE to become an active part of the global Street Racket movement.
Street Racket courts can be made by anyone in a matter of seconds at no costs and they are always very well accessible (e.g. for wheelchairs). There are no obstacles at all as there are only a few lines on the ground, which makes moving around the court very safe and risk free (for example people with poor eye sight or restricted mobility). The courts can also be adapted in shape and size, depending on the players demands, so that everyone can enjoy fun and fulfilling hours spent on court. With just the right level of challenge.
The “Street Racket progression” (see health & exercise description) is a perfect instrument to include ALL, for example total beginners, people with a handicap or with deficits in motorskills. When these players manage to be a part of the Street Racket family and successfully engage in social play, they will experience empowerment, self confidence and happiness. Street Racket creates a very positive psychosocial effect for all the players.
With the grassroots approach and the barrier free access to the concept, Street Racket also promotes life skills and most of the sustainable development goals SDGs. People and organizations who want to act socially responsible and promote these values will find a very useful tool when playing and supporting Street Racket and when starting a partnership or collaboration.
Street Racket & ICF: Empowering Cambodians!
The fantastic ICF Campus in Siem Reap offers a variety of fun, social and healthy activities for all at the breathtaking venue. The Street Racket team was met by the staff of the activity program to learn all about the endless possibilities of the Swiss movement concept.
ICF Cambodia also boasts its own school and helps other surrounding schools in PE development. Some of the teachers were also present at the Street Racket workshop - to use the many activities for their partnering schools and thus increase the impact in Cambodia. The big event area, where on weekends more than 500 kids and teenagers come together, was the perfect setup for the Street Racket demonstration.
